I have one of these right now and am looking to replace it. The watch band has cracked many times in the year since I bought it, and after numerous super-gluings, I am not even going to bother replacing the band. Why?

You can't use this watch. It has a calculator with no memory function, multi-timezone function that is nearly impossible to understand how to use, a scheduler that is also next to impossible to understand how to use (and looks like you can't remove an existing schedule!?), and supposedly can hold phone numbers and e-mail addresses, but I also cannot figure it out. This calculator watch has a user's manual that is disturbingly thick, and I still can't understand some of it. I gave up trying.

As for the basic calculator functions: To save space they took a row of buttons off from the usual DataBanks. The result is that for something as simple as performing calculations, you have to go through numerous counter-intuitive button presses in order to select the operator you want (pressing a side button once= "+," twice= "-," thrice= "x," and four times= "÷". And no memory function!? Does that make sense?

The alarm function is actually the scheduler, and it is strangely complicated to enter a simple alarm, and you can't delete it after it's been used. Or at least, if it is, it's buried somewhere in the user's manual which I gave up reading.

Save your money and your sanity and get a cheaper, classic DataBank.

Oh, and one last irritant:
If the body of the watch torques in some particular way, it will think that it is low on battery power, and so the timer/alarm will never sound (for saving battery life). I came to learn not to rely on using the timer function on this, because sometimes it wouldn't chime because of this problem, and I still haven't learned how to twist the body to get it to register normally again. This watch is extremely well put together and very well priced. Some people put a great deal of time, money, and energy into looking for nice dress watches, but for everyone else there's this Casio. Casio Men's Pathfinder Triple Sensor Altimeter/Barometer/ Digital Compass Green Watch #PAG40-3V is a great instrument to have if you are a seasoned camper like me. I am a trekking enthusiast and like most trekkers know how to use instruments to my advantage and find my way to the destination...To this, I must admit, I was fairly surprised by the accuracy that PAG40-3V brings to the table. This watch gives fairly accurate readings for altitude, temperature, direction, atmospheric pressure etc. I read some negative reviews about people not being able to get accurate readings...I respectfully disagree. I have tested altimeter, barometer, thermometer and compass (which, I believe, are the four chief selling points of the watch) and, as I already said, the readings showed tolerably least or most of the times no deviation from actuals. All in all, a great piece.

One more thing. I tried Suunto (almost settled for X-Lander) and Timex offering similar features before I bought this. I was surprised to see that compared to Suunto (which is relatively expensive) this watch offered same performance in lesser price. I will miss "Tough Solar", but it doesn't hold me back from declaring pride in my new possession.

I plan to use this watch for Trekking in Laddakh towards the end of this year. This is a great, nicely designed watch. It's got a metal band and it's pretty comfortable to wear once you get it fitted to your wrist right and you are used to the fold over clasp.

It definitely tells time and it does it's job well. If you're looking for a simple elegant watch, this is for you. Sure it's not packing in a lot of features like atomic synchronization or solar battery powered, but for about $15-$20, you really can't go wrong with this watch.

Not only does it keep perfect time, but the readouts are extremely easy and convenient to read. It's a fairly big watch on my small arm, but that doesn't bother me at all.
