Casio Men's G-Shock Multi-Band Solar Atomic Analog Watch #AWG101-1A

I wanted a very accurate watch compared to my Omega & Tag Heuer (both automatics). While these watches may have the panache/legacy, this Casio beats them both in accuracy, and is available at a fraction of the cost. Infact, I used this watch to set my others.

This watch performs exceptionally well, and you'll be hard pressed to find a watch with this amount of technical innovation. Even the other models in the Casio line up, this offers one of most comprehensive sets of features for the price. It also is one of the few G-shocks/wave-ceptor models that offers 5-band world frequency reception. This is a big plus if you find yourself in the middle or southern part of Europe and would like to sync to an atomic clock in that area.

Some things to note: In order for the manual-receive function to successfully work the first time, it would help if you placed the watch under a lamp for the first 30min to 1 hr of its life out of the box. This will give a chance for the solar cells to charge the back up battery, and be able to sustain adequate reception. Secondly, reception is greatly improved at night as pointed out in the instruction manual. I often find that it's harder to get a sync manually during the day (even in an relatively open area), but at night between the hours of 12am to 6am, this watch will likely sync without issue. This watch displays the actual time/date that the last successful sync was performed.

If I could write to the designers of this watch and could add/change some items about it (because I'm a sick perfectionist):

I would be great if Casio made this watch in a steel or titanium band, I would pay more just for the better look/durability of metal.

While adequately large, if the face of this watch was even slightly larger, and descriptive words/markings on the dial more spread out (or even some eliminated), this watch might exude the look of a higher quality watch - but thats just my opinion, the watch looks fine the way it is.

A second hand would be also great. Even though the seconds are displayed on the LCD recessed vial.

I wish the round sunken vial info area that displays a toggled view of date/day/time was moved to another location. It is currently at the 9 o'clock position, and is hard to read when the watch hand is in the 9 o'clock. Since most people look at the date at the start of the work day (i.e. 9am) its hard to tell the date until the hour hand moves off that position. The date should ideally be displayed at 3'oclock or 6'o clock position. I speculate that most people world wide would be less concerned about the date, when the time is either 3 or 6 am/pm around the world and the hour hand sits directly over it, as opposed to 9am/pm.

The 6 o'clock position vial does not indicate much info, more info should have been allocated here, and as such the display font through out could have been made larger, and more legible. If there was a way to shift or move the info around to where we would like it displayed, that would be a killer feature.

Overall this is a great watch, don't let anything stop you from getting it - you will be very content.

Casio Men's World Time Ana-Digi Data Bank 10-Year-Battery Watch #AW80V-3BV

Accurate. cool looking casual watch. easy to read analog time. month/day/date are digital and perpetual calendar so no need to adjust on short months as with analog watches - huge in my opinion. nylon/velcro strap much preferred to plastic.

resetting the time for d/s/t is quick if you hold down the button rather than clicking it many times

i don't need a lighted dial but if that is important other reviews should be read.

the face/dial is actually a pleasant yellow-biege so i don't know why it's listed as white. the border with the minute dashes is white.

if the battery lasts anywhere near 10 years and the watch continues to function it will be the watch bargain of the century :)

Casio Men's G-Shock Tough Culture Watch #DW6900FS-8

I bought one of these white Casio watches about 3 years ago. It's a great watch and love the atomic feature BUT I wish I had know the white color is just painted on. It rubs off and looks pretty bad when it does. If I had it to do over again I wouldn't have worn it as a everyday watch and maybe it would have stayed looking nice longer. I called Casio customer service to ask them if all of their colored or white watches were just painted on finishes and yep, they are. Maybe someday they will make the housing and bands with color all the way through, just not there yet.Buy Casio Men's G-Shock Tough Culture Watch #DW6900FS-8!

Casio Men's G-Shock Gulfman Tide and Moon Watch #G9100-1

PROS:
1) comfortable watch to wear: as other reviewers point out, it feels well balanced despite it's physical size.

2) Fits well, even for smaller wrist sizes: the material, shape of the band and its width all work to make this a comfortable watch.

3) Titanium backing (lightweight and resists corrosion).

4) The tide and moon functions seem to be fairly accurate and are fun/useful to have readily available.

5) Really, it's not that bulky when compared to many other watches. For example it's comparable to a self winding analog watch.

CONS:
1) It's bulk is felt if you wear it with tight fitting sleaves (such as knitted wrists on a jacket).

2) The booklet that comes with it is a little tedius to use (small pages and print), which may be why some people found it difficult to set up. However, you can easily find a .pdf file on the Internet that is full size and easier to read.

In general, the Moon Phase and Tide functions require you to invest a little more time in learning to use the watch - but that ought to be expected. In the end, you may even enjoy learning some of the science behind it.Buy Casio Men's G-Shock Gulfman Tide and Moon Watch #G9100-1!

Casio Men's Electro Luminescence Digital Bracelet Watch #A168W-1

Chinese-made digital Casio, chrome face, mineral crystal, stainless back, stainless adjustable band, day + date (no month), 12hr/24hr, alarm, chrono/split. Really bright blue backlight, ie. "electro luminescence", egaged by pushing the Light button.
You can't compare an $18 watch to your $300 citizen, but I give the watch itself a 5, because I think it's got a cool unique face, and is functional - in a retro, circa 1985 way.
I took off 1 star because of the band, which actually looks nice from the outside - but the underside is a little rough, has unfinished edges, and catches arm hair easily. I used 400 grit sandpaper to smooth the edges, and it's much more comfortable now. They obviously save money by not hand finishing these bands.Buy Casio Men's Electro Luminescence Digital Bracelet Watch #A168W-1!

Casio Men's Waveceptor Atomic Watch #WVA107HA-1AV

I recently purchased the Casio Men's Waveceptor Atomic Watch #WVA107HA-1AV. I am very impressed with this watch both in style and function. It updates when scheduled and I have not had to go out of my way to insure reception in New York from Colorado. At first I missed the sweeping second hand, but unless you are timing something in seconds, it's really not necessary. I've learned I can do without. It looks awesome, and after going six months without a watch, it was nice to have a dependable time piece once again. The durable rubber watch band took some getting used to, but I bet I wear out before it does. Though I am not out to impress, it looks like watches I have seen in magazines for $400.00 or more. In short, I love this watch and you cannot beat the price.Buy Casio Men's Waveceptor Atomic Watch #WVA107HA-1AV!

Casio Women's Black Casual Classic Analog Watch #LQ139A-9B3

I didn't realize how small the face of the watch was. I don't wear glasses, so I consider myself to have good eye sight but I strain to see the time on it. It was cheap, so I guess I got what I paid for!!Buy Casio Women's Black Casual Classic Analog Watch #LQ139A-9B3!

Casio Men's Multifunction Sport Watch #W94HF-8AV

Perfect regatta watch. I have used this watch for many years and currently own two of them. The best feature is the repeating countdown timer with audible alert every minute, 30s, 20s, 10s, 5,4,3,2,1 ... (this is not a common feature in other Casio watches - unfortunately) You can hear it in heavy air on the starting line, which can't be said about many other, much more expensive, watches. Over the years, I have gone through half a dozen or more of those, primarily because they got pulled off by a line or ripped off from my hand in some other fashion. Never gave it a second thought because it is so cheap, always carry a backup in my bag to a regatta. You can hand one to your crew or a friend and if it does not come back - oh well... The band is solid. The only disadvantage is that it is hard to keep it completely clean if you live an active life and spend some time in the water. Not quite good enough to wear as a dress watch unless it is new (although I have been doing just that for a while). Never had to replace the battery. You will get some scratches, but to my knowledge, this is essentially unbreakable watch. Also, no gimmick features like moon-phase...
- dual time is good if you travel across timezones occasionally
- alarm is loud
- stopwatch with the usual features
- countdown - the best
- back-light is bright enough
reliable, practical, durable, light, inexpensive and OK looking
good luck

Casio Men's Databank Watch #DB37HD-7AV

I have to buy another casio because this one's case isn't metal and finally the pin holding the strap broke through the plastic pin-holder (probably my fault). i won't buy another DB-37h mainly because i sometimes inadvertently press and hold the 12/24H button (for example, while sleeping), which causes the watch to change to DST (which is indicated by a small DST sign) and the time increases by 1 hour. so, occasionally, one goes to events 1 hour early (I guess it's better than getting there one hour late). What idiot thought of this - it totally ruins the watch - all you need for this to happen once.Buy Casio Men's Databank Watch #DB37HD-7AV!

Casio Men's Pathfinder Multi-Band Solar Atomic Black Watch #PAW1300-1V

Had the watch for 5 months, here's what I think
Pros: It does all what it says!! Slim design, light weight, large display easy to read at a glance, Solar charging is ok so far, I don't really charge it that much but the indicator is at High.
Timer, stopwatch and alarms all working good, digital compass is accurate, Atomic time keeping is really great.
Cons:
- Rubber band sucks!
- Altimeter always off, not accurate at all, tried to adjust it several times then gave up on it!! I'm not talking about moving to different places, I measure the altitude at home and at work, it gives me different reading every time.
- Barometer is a little bit off but close enough.
-The Auto backlight keeps accidently turning on and it consumes a lot of battery power so I had to turn it off.
-Always have to keep the User's Manual handy; I have to check it every time I want to change display settings, measuring units... etc.
- I left the thermometer to the end because it's the worst!!!!!!
It reads my body temp or around it, to accurately measure the temp you have to take the watch off your wrist and WAIT AT LEAST 30 MIN!!!!!!!! What's the point of having a thermometer in my watch that I have to wait ages, the response is so slow, I understand that it should pick the body heat but I was expecting it to adjust faster when you take it off. No matter where you were, at home, work or in your vehicle, if you want to know the temp at that moment... you can't SO I THINK THE THERMOMETER IS POINTLESS.

Casio Women's Black Casual Classic Analog Watch #LQ139A-1B3

This is a great watch light weight and comfortable. I love the fact that it is simple yet classy enough for me to were to work or out for the evening. It is especially great that it is water-resistance. As a mother on the go I am always running from here to there and putting my hands in dish water, washing machine, even bathing the cat etc. and the fact that I dont have to stop to take off the watch and put it in a safe place away form water is the best of all.Buy Casio Women's Black Casual Classic Analog Watch #LQ139A-1B3!
